Japanese Geisha Illustration

An illustration of a Japanese geisha to form part of a larger collage design for TEDxKyoto 2013

This geisha illustration forms part of a larger Kyoto-themed mural for a client. The linework was hand-drawn on a Galaxy Note 10.1 using Sketchbook Pro. These outlines were then imported into Photoshop on a MacBook Pro.

I then coloured the image using vector shapes and the pen tool. This was the first time I used my new Yiynova MSP19U for an illustration and it really helped improve my workflow. Compared to a small MacBook screen and an Intuos tablet, this is a dream setup. It's also a lot more birght, vivid and contrasty than my old Cintiq. I highly recommend it.
